Wireless radiation easily enters the building from windows (unless the glass has a metal coating) and is blocked to some extent by the walls depending on the thickness and type of construction material. Normally, you reduce radiation, measured in µW/m2, by 90-99% (=10-20dB) depending on whether it is a wall or more that is being shielded. If you already have protection in windows with energy glass, it will not help to install radiation protection curtains because 10% of the radiation goes around when the transmitter is some distance away.
To be successful with shielding measures, it is important that you measure before shielding to be able to determine what measures should/can be taken to reduce the electromagnetic field of the measuring object. To measure radiation from mobile towers, wifi, electrical wires and appliances, meters for electric fields, magnetic fields, radio waves and microwaves are needed. High-frequency radiation and low-frequency fields have different properties and require completely different measures to reduce the fields.
Shielding paints, foils and fabrics should be used correctly because incorrect use of such shielding materials can actually worsen the electromagnetic situation. Wallpapering more than one wall can cause reflections in the room, which makes the situation worse. It is safest to wallpaper only the wall facing the transmitter, so that you are on its "shadow side". If you are unsure about the electromagnetic environment in the room you are shielding, or have questions regarding shielding electromagnetic fields and radiation, we recommend that you contact us before ordering and we will provide guidance to the best of our ability.
We have a large range of instruments for measuring low-frequency magnetic and/or electric field instruments as well as instruments for measuring high-frequency electromagnetic fields click here. It is also possible to rent a microwave meter and see where the radiation is coming from. Click here
Our EMF shielding fabrics and materials are independently tested for chemical contamination and are free of toxic chemicals, providing superior shielding capabilities without compromising safety.
