Shielding bedroom

Shielding off your bedroom is about creating a calmer and more stable sleeping environment where your body has the best possible conditions for recovery, hormone balance and regulation of the nervous system. Important biological processes take place during sleep: the immune system is strengthened, hormones are regulated, the brain processes impressions and the nervous system gets the rest it needs.

Many people think that shielding is very expensive, but experience shows otherwise. The cost varies depending on the design of the room, which screening solution you choose and whether you do the work yourself or hire a professional craftsman.

For a typical bedroom of 10–14 m², the total price for shielding materials will be around 800–1,500 SEK, depending on whether you only shield the walls or create a complete Faraday cage.

Compared to:

  • Better sleep
  • Fewer problems
  • Improved quality of life

many people consider this to be a very good investment.

Common sources of electromagnetic pollution in bedrooms

  • Wireless networks (Wi-Fi)
  • Nearby mobile phone masts
  • Smart meters
  • Electrical installations in walls, ceilings and floors
  • Electrical equipment in or near the bed

Important to shield correctly

Shielding of your bedroom is not about fear, but about awareness and caring for your own health. Whether you have clear symptoms or simply want the best possible sleep quality, Shielded-off-bedroom can be one of the most effective measures you can take for yourself – and your family.

Shielding materials work mainly by reflecting electromagnetic fields and/or conducting them away. If the shielding is incomplete, the radiation may instead be amplified, concentrated or remain in the room.

Examples of where shielding may be incomplete:

  • The direction of the radiation sources is unknown and walls that reflect radiation to other rooms/zones are shielded
  • The walls are shielded, but windows and doors are open to radiation The transitions between walls, ceilings and floors are not sealed
  • Shielding surfaces are not properly grounded
